Vancouver 2010 Souvenir Program Already Out!

Collectible: Vancouver 2010 Official Souvenir Program
Price: $17.85 (Plus Tax)
Available: At most bookstores/news-stands across Canada (I've seen them at Chapters and Shoppers Drug Mart already)

62 days 'till the Opening Ceremonies and I found the official souvenir program at my local Chapters. It's about 145 pages long and is a beautiful souvenir of the games--even if you weren't there. It has a schedule, map, list/description of each sport, interesting articles about Vancouver and the rest of Canada and beautiful pictures. From the cover on, it uses the "Look of the Games" that VANOC has used for most of its promotions/advertisements so far, it looks sharp. I highly recommend you go out and buy a copy, it's very nice looking and well done. Even if you enjoyed Vancouver 2010 from the comfort of your couch, it's something you can leaf through in 40 years and have fond memories of "Canada's Games"!

PS The Olympic flame is coming to Ottawa tomorrow! I'm for sure going to go out and see it, I'm trying to mooch of one of my friends who is running the torch to at least get a picture, hopefully I'll be running alongside him! On Saturday night the flame comes to Parliament Hill, it's sure going to be a great party, with free Beaver Tails to boot!

Vancouver 2010 Crossed Skis Pin

Collectible: Vancouver 2010 Crossed Skis Pin
Price: About $8.00
Available: At almost any Bay or Zellers or vancouver2010.com

For my first post, I chose this Vancouver 2010 pin. Part of the “logo series”, it was one of the first pins issued after the logo was released in 2005. It was also one of the first ones I bought when I started my collection. It has a nice design and look to it, the "rounded logo" is a nice one which VANOC (Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee) uses on occasion. Since skiing is one of the Winter Olympics’ biggest events, it’s fitting that they designed such a nice one as part of the first batch of pins. I was hoping they’d use it as a logo in other areas, but so far nothing.
